Ernest "Joe" Budnick(see Marquis Who's Who in America President, UMO Music, Producer and part-time R&B and Rock guitarist, singer, songwriter. Each year Joe is seen in television news clips, New York City Tour Guide Books, and newspapers across the U.S. and in numerous countries, as he plays his guitar and sings with friends in Greenwich Village. According to Joe ". . .when the weather isn't too cold, the best place to play is Washington Square Park on Sunday . . . not the weekdays . . . just Sundays." According to the New York Times ("The Beat Goes On And On" by Joel Engardio, Sunday-July 27, 1997), " . . . when they belt out "Let's Get Funky," Mr. Budnick's band attracts an audience of 150 who sing along."
Joe donates time to charities, singing and playing guitar with many of New York's best underground R&B and Rock Musicians and has played in many well known music clubs over the years including a one-and-a-half-year-long weekly Saturday Night Show at the Village Gate, performing under the name "Just Friends". Woven into the groups' performances were diverse jam sessions including one with Jules Holland of the British band 'Squeeze', as well as with many famous R&B performers of the time. His song, "Keep On Playing" was written with lyrics that were designed to be inspirational and educational for new musicians. Continuing in that spirit, Joe currently donates some of his time to host the famous Sunday afternoon UMO Showcase & Open Mike of Greenwich Village that "The Villager" newspaper calls one of the most professional and supportive music environments in New York City. Besides music, Joe has strong interests in film, television, computer technology and audio recording. He is currently busy writing new songs, recording, and developing new music-related and Film/TV business projects. For Additional Information send E-Mail To UMO Music, Att: Joe Budnick # # #
