Bobby Stewart Bobby Stewart’s music incorporates a wide range of stylistic elements, and has been described by critics as "unique" and "original." He began his performing and recording career playing with various groups around the New York City area. One of his bands - Bobby Stewart and The I.D.'s - developed a cult following playing at clubs such as CBGB in Manhattan. When The I.D.'s disbanded, Stewart signed with Warner Bros. Records as a solo artist and released "Copyright On Love", which charted nationally. Other successful recordings include "Bottom Of The Drum" and "Dark Side Of Love" on S.O.S Records. Throughout his various projects Stewart has worked with an array of great musicians that includes members of The Psychedelic Furs, Buzzcocks, The Roches and others who have played with artists such as The B-52's, Joe Jackson, Sting, Robyn Hitchcock and Chaka Khan. Also, as well as being one of the original participants in the "Loser's Lounge" - a highly acclaimed series of songwriter tributes - Stewart was invited by the Woody Guthrie Foundation in 2001 to create music for, and perform in concert, previously unrecorded lyrics written by Woody Guthrie. In October of 2003, Stewart released Volume One of a planned series of limited edition CD’s entitled "Live In New Amsterdam" on Plan B Music. His current band - Bobby Stewart & The Contraires - has been playing various clubs in the Tri-State area. The band includes Paul DeCoster - Guitar/Vocals, Jon Sobel - Bass/Vocals and Rich Kulsar - Drums/Percussion. Contact: B.
