Welcome to UMO

Hi everyone and welcome. My name is Joe Budnick, president of UMO Music..

Here's what UMO is all about

Over the years I've been encouraging great musicians to provide free acoustic music and singing in Washington Square Park for visitors from around the world. This has been going on since way before there was an Internet, however, since 1995 the Internet has made it easier to stay in contact with all the music lovers and musicians who visited us in Greenwich Village and who ultimately became great friends.

In addition, we are now reaching out to many new music fans and musicians with special projects for new singer /songwriters who we hope will become regular visitors to Greenwich Village.

Some of the Music Styles and Influences

If you like Classic Rock, R&B, Pop, Soul, etc from the 1960's, 70's, 80's and 90's then this is the place to visit. Many of our great singers and musicians will put their own spin on hit songs from the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, the Who, Bee Gees, Rascals, Sam Cook, Sam & Dave, Doobie Brothers, and many more. And, it's all done with acoustic instruments and un-amplified vocals. (No studio fixes or special effects to make people sound better, you will hear pure talent).

If you like new music some of the artists will periodically introduce you to their new original songs.
